Hey, if you’re picking up some stuff from Costco, do you mind getting some paper towels, a new bottle of sunscreen, a few hot dogs and some forged wedges? You may have to wait a little on the wedges, but they’re on the way … and they’re USGA-approved.
That’s right! Kirkland Signature has some new wedges hitting the market, and they’ve already been listed on the USGA Conforming List. The clubs will have lofts of 52°, 56° and 60°, and appear to be for both right- and left-handed golfers.
Costco’s first wedge set dropped back in 2021, but the clubs were centered around milled face technology. These forged wedges are built from a single solid piece of metal, heated and then shaped using high pressure. And they look to be manufactured by SM Global/SM Parker Golf, a forging house in Qingdao, China. Many of the wedges that made this year’s Golf Digest Hot List were forged, and Kirkland Signature appears to be following suit with the popular trend.

As is Costco tradition, the clubs will most likely be packaged together and sold for a more-than-reasonable price. Kirkland Signature’s Gen2 cast wedges went for around $160 for a three-piece set. That’s quite the steal, especially when the average Hot List gold wedge goes for $180-220 per club!
There’s no precise on-sale date, but Costco moves quickly, so we could see a release over the next few months. This is just another reason to get a Costco membership or at least to be friendly with someone who has a Costco Card.
