When you come out of a little-known college like Western Carolina and go on to win twice on the PGA Tour, you’re an instant school legend regardless of what you did during your time there. Of course, JT Poston was a major producer for the Catamounts mean’s golf team from 2011-’12 to 2014-’15, so he was already a school legend before he even teed it up as a pro.

And when you’re a school legend as an athlete, things tend to get named after you. Streets, stadiums, athletic facilities, or, in Poston’s case, an invitational golf tournament. The event in question began in 2004 and was known as the WCU Intercollegiate before being changed to the Hummingbird Intercollegiate in 2008. In 2019, 11 years later, it was named the JT Poston Invitational to honor the Wyndham Championship and (future) John Deere Classic winner.

As if it wasn’t baller enough to have a tournament named after you, the JT Poston Invitational now has a sick trophy, too. Would you expect anything different than this for the man known as “the Postman”:

Dudes will see this and just say “hell yeah” (it’s me, I’m dudes).

We’ve seen some incredible trophies in golf over the years, specifically the Sanderson Farms rooster and the Players Championship “Gold Boy.” The Postman’s mail box trophy deserves to be mentioned in the same breath now.

For those interested, scoring for the JT Poston Invitational can be found here. Looks like mighty Lipscomb might hang on for the team title after play finishes up on Tuesday, and Lipscomb’s Alejandro Rodriguez is on the verge of capturing the individial title, too. We can’t wait to see somebody raise the mailbox over there head, whoever it ends up being.
