Less than 24 hours after Rory McIlroy completed one of the most impressive feats in golf, NFL great J.J. Watt took on Augusta National with the same Sunday pins. Watt has been prepping for this moment for a month now, but he didn’t help matters after allegedly “hammering” domestic beers at the 16th green with Shane Gillis over the weekend.

Watt predicted that he couldn’t imagine shooting under 150, which is a pro move. Lower those expectations so that when you go low, you feel like a god. And for the most part, Watt delivered.

“Augusta National Round Update,” Watt posted. “Played from Member tees – Sunday pins – Ball-in-hole – No gimmes, no free drops, etc. First 9: 49, Second 9: 54, Total: 103.

“Extremely pleased with that result. What an unbelievable experience at an unbelievable place. Very grateful.”

Watt made sure to mention that he got a par on No. 1 without a breakfast ball, which McIlroy himself would’ve preferred over his double bogey to start his Sunday round. To be fair, that was the defensive end’s only par of the day. What a way to start your Augusta National round, though!

“Championship Tees are about 1,100 yards further in total,” Watt added. “Those guys are just on a completely different level, it’s insane.”

Watt got to take on the Masters course thanks to some friends at CBS—we’re always looking for new friends, by the way—and Watt said that he hadn’t picked up a golf club in a year back in March. If true, what a turnaround.

Watt’s also previously mentioned that he’s around a 25 handicap, so 31-over par at Augusta National is one of the best rounds in recent history. There’s a reason these guys are pro athletes and the rest of us aren’t.
