After recently parting ways with Nike, there is reason to believe that Tiger Woods will have a new look – with a familiar theme – when he tees it up next.

During the weekend, several Twitter accounts pieced together what a possible new clothing line from Woods could look like. The accounts report that TaylorMade – Woods’ equipment sponsor – is moving towards launching a new lifestyle brand reportedly labelled Sunday Red. The Twitter handle @LIVGolfUpdates was first to report the news:

With John Nucci (@JNucci23) and @NUCLRGOLF sharing the trademark filing made by TaylorMade:

What is unclear from these reports is whether TaylorMade could be working to produce an apparel line of its own or whether it might attempt to work in conjunction with another apparel maker to help launch a line. Sources have told Golf Digest an additional apparel company could be involved as a collaborator.

The red shirt on Sundays has been a staple for Woods his entire pro career, and it goes back to his days at Stanford University. He also has said in past interviews that his mother influenced him wearing that “power colour”, which is the colour of Sunday in her native Thailand, where people wear colours based on the day of the week. The more you know, right?

For more than 27 years, Woods wore a Nike version of that Sunday red before announcing the end of that iconic partnership earlier this month. In that announcement, Woods also hinted at “another chapter” and that he would see everyone in Los Angeles in February, referencing the PGA Tour event that he hosts, the Genesis Invitational.

Now it appears it’s becoming more clear what that next chapter will be. At least, in terms of apparel.
