Wilson

Staff Model ZM

Why we like it

Designing a groove with spin while minimising flyers and other variations can be daunting. Wilson changed its manufacturing method to produce a steeper angle in the groove for less loss of spin in wet conditions. Using a Garnet blast, surface roughness on the face (120 micro inches, up from 85 micro inches) was also improved for better performance on pitches and chips. The True Temper Dynamic Gold Spinner shaft and Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip complete a package tour pros and amateurs can appreciate.

  • HT (high toe) offering features full face grooves and a longer hosel in 56, 60, 64-degree lofts.
  • Forged from 8620 carbon steel for a soft feel.
  • 15 options (46-64 degrees); 1 grind; 1 finish

Reviewer profile

“Rubber band-like effect on greenside shots. Energetic off the face, but I can vary trajectory and control spin. Consistent distance and dispersion on full shots.”
