Greg Norman is spending Christmas in hospital after revealing he’s been struck down with COVID-19.

Norman, 65, took to instagram this morning (AEDT) to share the unwelcome news from his hospital bed.

“This sums it all up. My Christmas Day. On behalf of millions, f*** Covid,” Norman wrote.

“Get this s**t behind us never to experience it again.”

Less than 24 hours earlier, Norman had posted a message on Christmas Eve that he was in self-quarantine after exhibiting “mild symptoms,” although noted his doctor had told him a test earlier in the week resulted in a negative result.

Despite the deterioration of his condition that led to his hospital admission, Norman remains in good spirits, telling Australian Golf Digest, “I’ll be all good.”

Just a week ago the Shark teamed up with son Greg Norman Jr in the PNC Championship in Florida, which included a bumper field headlined by Tiger and Charlie Woods.   A week earlier Norman hosted two dozen professional players at his QBE Shootout, a team event that is an unofficial tournament on the PGA Tour.

UPDATE: Greg Jr also revealed he has COVID-19, detailing the symptoms on a Christmas Day Instagram post:

“Such a strange virus, I barely felt a thing and Michelle got hit hard by it,” Greg Jr said. “Michelle is incredibly healthy and extremely fit. We both feel we went above and beyond on protocols to avoid the virus. Stay healthy everyone!”
