Does your swing feel a little too long at the top? Maybe it’s getting quick at the transition? Or you don’t know exactly what the problem is, but you just feel out of sync? Golf Digest Top 50 Teacher Erika Larkin has a simple drill that will get your swing back into rhythm.

Set up to a ball and swing to the top. Then pause there for a couple counts longer than you normally would before finishing your swing.

“It helps me keep my arm structure at the top and sync everything up in order on the way down. It makes me feel really smooth,” Larkin says.

Whether you’re a 2 handicap or a 20, Larkin says players of all skill levels can benefit from this drill.

Larkin says to do 10-20 reps of this drill, and you’ll start to feel yourself getting back into the right rhythm. The best part about it is that it only takes a couple of minutes to do. That’s why Larkin calls it her go-to drill. Even if she just has a few minutes on the tee in-between lessons, she can do this drill to help groove her swing.
