Some looks are timeless. Others are, well, more regrettable.

It’s easy for sameness to take a stranglehold in the fashion stakes on tour. Male players in particular are bound by tour regulations that (mostly) require long pants and collared shirts. As a result, experimenting with colour or materials is about the only way to express a little individuality.

As Jesper Parnevik outfits go, this one was actually fairly tame…

However, that hasn’t stopped players from trying to exert originality into their attire through the years. Some have just carried it out better than others.

As Tiger Woods put it after the 2006 Open: “I just bludgeoned Tweety Bird.”

We come not to humiliate the players pictured here but rather to applaud their attempts at creating a point of difference on the fairways. Well, mostly.
