Dustin Johnson is set to successfully defend his crown when the world’s best golfers descend on the 117th US Open from June 15 to 18.

That is the tale of the tape in US Open betting markets at Ladbrokes, where the world No.1 remains an outright $7 favourite to secure the second Major win of his professional career.

Johnson has posted several typically outstanding results in 2017, but has drifted slightly from an opening quote of $5 with the bookmaker after missing the cut at the Memorial Tournament.

Only five Aussies have been confirmed in the 2017 US Open field and all represent terrific value to punters at lucrative odds.

Jason Day’s form has been inconsistent at best this year, but the 29-year-old finished second in the AT&T Byron Nelson in late May and in a tie for 15th at the Memorial Tournament most recently, and he subsequently leads Australia’s chances as a $13 hope.

Adam Scott is yet to find winning form this season, but the 2013 Masters champion has produced a number of typically smart results in recent months and is more than worth consideration for a bet at $26 odds.

Marc Leishman has not heralded much interest in overall winner betting markets and remains tied on the 13th line of betting with the likes of Graeme McDowell and Rafael Cabrera-Bello, at $126 odds.

The other two Aussies in the field, Wade Ormsby and Nick Flanagan, are at lengthy odds to win.
