Willunga Golf Course in the picturesque McLaren Vale region of South Australia hosts its fourth consecutive Players Series tournament and launches the five-leg Players Series schedule for the 2026/2027 Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia season.
The fourth event of the men’s schedule, Players Series South Australia hosted by Greg Blewett marks the resumption of the WPGA Tour of Australasia season and has drawn a field boasting Australia’s brightest young professional talent along with an amateur contingent ready to put their names up in lights.
Caitlin Peirce returns to her home state after finishing 31st on the moneylist on the Epson Tour in the US, Perth’s Jess Whitting has made 16 starts on the Epson Tour the past two seasons and South Australian Kristalle Blum is back with a runner-up finish on the LET Access Series this season.
The amateur talent is also stacked.
Ranked No.35 in the world, Jazy Roberts has wins in England and the US to her name this year and more recently won the Bowra & O’Dea Womens 72 Hole Classic, the Royal Fremantle Amateur Open and South Australian Amateur Championship in consecutive weeks.
Sydney’s Rachel Lee, who along with Roberts represented Australia at the Women’s Asia-Pacific Championship in March, made it to the Round of 16 at the US Women’s Amateur Championship and was second to Grace Rho in the Queensland Amateur in August.
The men’s field is laden with players seeking to enhance their positions on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit.
After skipping the WA Open, 2024 Willunga champ Jack Buchanan is back in action, last week’s runner-up at Secret Harbour Golf Links, Jasper Stubbs, will seek to go one better and PNG Open champion Josh Armstrong can solidify his No.1 Order of Merit position.
The first Players Series event of the season also incorporates the All Abilities Players Series SA and the Junior Players Series SA, continuing to build playing opportunities in golf’s most exclusive and innovative tournament format.
The final two rounds of Players Series South Australia will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports and Fox Sports from 3pm AEDT Saturday and 1pm AEDT Sunday.
