Cameron Young is one of Golf Twitter’s Gambling Twitter’s most lightning-rod subjects. Super talented and with some super close calls in major championships, he draws a lot of bets from those not wanting to miss his first PGA Tour win. Unfortunately, those people haven’t missed anything yet.

Young hasn’t just remained out of the winner’s circle in 2025, but he’s uncharacteristically struggled of late with consecutive missed cuts. And it took only one swing at this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational to have gamblers already ripping up their betting slips.

But there was something else that stood out about Young piping his opening tee shot at Bay Hill OB. Look closely and you’ll see he had an AirPod in:

Apparently, you can take the player out of TGL, but you can’t take TGL out of the player.

Of course, it’s not uncommon for PGA Tour pros to practice or warm up listening to music (and in recent years, players have put one in their ear to do walk-and-talk interviews). Or, maybe Cam was listening to the latest episode of The Loop podcast and it was just that engrossing. If that’s the case, we totally understand.

But regardless, it was an unusual scene. And, not surprisingly, the aforementioned Golf/Gambling Twitter had a field day with it:

Oh, man. Great song. I wouldn’t be able to hit stop in the middle of that one either. Anyway, as someone pointed out, Young took the AirPod out by the time he reached the green:

Ouch.
