Last year Callaway hit the equipment endorsement jackpot by landing Jon Rahm, who went on to win the US Open and reach No.1 in the world. This year the company has added another rising star on the PGA Tour, Abraham Ancer, as well as last year’s winner of the US Women’s Open, Yuka Saso.

Ancer will play Callaway woods and an Odyssey putter and will wear a Callaway hat in competition. Saso will play all Callaway equipment, including the ball, and will have a company staff bag. Both are multi-year agreements.

Ancer, who will make his debut using Callaway gear at this week’s Sentry Tournament of Champions, grabbed his first win on the PGA Tour at the 2021 WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational and finished ninth in the FedEx Cup Standings. He currently sits 17th on the Official World Golf Ranking.

“I’m excited to officially join Callaway, and after playing their equipment over the past several years, I feel really confident about making the switch,” Ancer said in a statement released by Callaway.

“The performance from their drivers is always impressive, their putters are outstanding, and I’ve developed a strong relationship with their Tour Team. This is a great fit for me, and I can’t wait to get this new year started.”

Saso, who doesn’t turn 21 until June, will make her Callaway debut later this month at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions on the LPGA Tour. Currently eighth on the Rolex Rankings, she has two Japan LPGA wins to her credit along with her US Open title.

“We’re thrilled that Yuka Saso is joining our staff,” said Tim Reed, senior vice president of global sports marketing for Callaway. “She is one of the most exciting players in the women’s game, and we’re looking forward to working with her in 2022 and beyond.”

Getting some Rahm-like results wouldn’t hurt, either.
