At the Asian Tour’s Hong Kong Open, part of the lucrative International Series, South Australian Wade Ormsby will chase a third career victory in the event following wins in 2017 and 2020. Ormsby, who claimed the Asian Tour’s Jakarta International Championship recently, spearheads the Australian contingent at Hong Kong Golf Club that also features Sam Brazel, Travis Smyth, Matt Jones, Aaron Wilkin, Brett Coletta, Scott Hend and Jack Buchanan in action.

The Hong Kong Open boasts a proud Australian history, with past champions including Peter Thomson, Kel Nagle, Greg Norman and Ormsby himself. The $US2 million event will air live from 3:30pm on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.

On the LPGA Tour, five Australians will line up at the LPGA Tour’s Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur, with Grace Kim and Hannah Green straight back into competition after their International Crown victory they enjoyed last week with Minjee Lee and Steph Kyriacou.

Kim said the win restored a feeling of confidence and hunger to keep grinding, conceding that she endured a lack of form after breaking through for her maiden major win at the Evian Championship in July.

“To go through a mental slump over the last few months and then to be able to get that done and win the International Crown together as a team, which is obviously very different for our sport, and our country, because we don’t get to play a lot for our country like that… It’s been a bit after rollercoaster of a year which has been great,” Kim said. “I’ve had a lot of highs, so definitely cherishing this year for sure.

“I would say the biggest change would probably be just being able to take it in mentally and not worry about having to keep my card for the next five years. That’s obviously huge. At the same time, trying not to let that get in the way of slacking. I’m still going continue to grind as I have been.”

Green and Kim are joined by fellow Australians Cassie Porter, Robyn Choi and Karis Davidson. New Zealand star Lydia Ko is also competing. The $US3 million tournament at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club’s West Course is live from 12:30pm to 5:30pm AEDT Thursday through Sunday on Fox Sports 503 and Kayo Sports.

In Japan, Australian veteran Brad Kennedy will tee up at the Fortinet Players Cup at Narita Hills Country Club, while countrymen Wonjoon Lee and Junseok Lee were flying the Australian flag on the Korean PGA Tour at the Lexus Masters at the Ferrum Club.
