To celebrate steeped tradition, adidas is bringing back its iconic trefoil brand mark and launching a new nostalgic collection at the Masters
Being considered an original is a privilege. Becoming a ‘great’ is earned. Creating a legacy is driven by an unending pursuit for excellence. That’s why we love golf.
When you think about the greatest golf tournament in the world, for many what comes to mind is the Masters. The coveted green jacket is a symbol that puts the triumphant in a winner’s circle steeped in tradition.
The roots of the Masters run deep, and for adidas Golf the iconic tournament is in its DNA. Wearing what was then the only adidas logo, Sandy Lyle made a birdie on the 18th hole to win in 1988 with the adidas Originals logo on his chest. The golf world watched on while history was made with Lyle becoming the first Masters champion from the United Kingdom.

To celebrate steeped tradition, adidas is bringing back its iconic trefoil brand mark and launching a new nostalgic collection at the Masters.
Inspired by timeless classics paying tribute to the game with modern silhouettes and delivering iconic footwear styles in the drop, what’s truly unique in this new collection is the trefoil Originals logo returning to golf wear. It’s a stamp of style, culture and respect the brand is giving the game, its players and fans.
For adidas Golf Creative Director Dylan Moore, he says the function of the collection on the course is a given, with design always driven by performance.
“We intentionally want this being an Originals label to be wearable on the golf course but just as importantly, be wearable off the course and not look like you’ve just come off a golf course,” Moore says.
For generations through sport adidas has influenced culture. In months to come it won’t be surprising to see this collection on the streets, with a tease of what’s to come later this year just as fashion-forward and undeniably cool.

“Life is different these days. People want to go from the golf course into their life and not look different. They want to feel the same and look like themselves,” Moore said.
For both the fashion loud and subtle golfer there’s pieces that will quickly become favourites in the wardrobe. The cool crowd will have this collection on the course this season.
For the shoe fans, one of the most popular adidas styles will soon be spotted on the green. Gazelle has been transformed into a spikeless golf shoe. The style is instantly recognisable as one of the Originals, but what you don’t see straight away is the tech making it golf specific. There’s hidden spikeless traction, reinforcing structure and waterproofing.
Getting your hands on a piece of this collection will have you feeling on trend and paying homage to golf royalty.
If you can’t get your hands on a green jacket, donning the adidas Originals logo will have you feeling a million bucks on the course.
Make no apology, play bold and always be driven by performance. Always remember, have permission to be yourself that’s what makes you original which should always be celebrated.
