Mardy Fish is the current King of Celebrity Golf, but but Michael Jordan remains the GOAT when it comes to celebrity golf gambling tales.

So when Fish had a chance to play with his Airness a few years ago, he made sure he came prepared with some cash. Check that, a LOT of cash.

Fresh off his third win at the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, Fish, still wearing his champions white lab coat, appeared on the Rich Eisen Show on Wednesday. He talked about his memorable round with MJ—and revealed the insane amount of money he withdrew from the bank before heading to the course.

“I went to the bank and got 15 grand,” the former tennis star says in the clip. “I swear to you this is a true story. . . . I had no idea what we were going to play for, so just in case, I went to the bank.”

FIFTEEN GRAND! In CASH! Well, it turns out they didn’t play for nearly as much that day. Which was a big relief for Fish. Although, he ended up winning money that day. Hear him tell the story:

Probably smart of MJ to keep things more friendly considering Fish’s golf ability. Anyway, good for Mardy. Three wins at Tahoe is impressive, but getting into Michael Jordan’s wallet might be even cooler.
