Love or loathe the hybrid simulator golf league, you have to admit there’s plenty of intriguing showdowns next season, beginning with the very first match of the season on Sunday, December 28, when the reigning TGL champions, Atlanta Drive GC, take on New York GC in a rematch of last year’s final. Horschel and the Dirty Birds also take on last year’s regular-season kings, Los Angeles Golf Club, on February 23 while the Founders’ Derby pitting Tiger Woods vs Rory McIlroy is scheduled for March 1.

TGL’s official press release states that Woods will face off against McIlroy that night, so circle that one on your calendar, but Tiger fans should keep their eye on Tuesday, January 13. That’s when Jupiter Links GC kicks off its 2026 campaign against New York GC. We haven’t seen Woods play competitive golf since undergoing surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon on March 11. There have been several glimpses of Woods since as he ramps up his recovery, but nothing definitive. Will the Big Cat finally make his return in January or will we have to wait a bit longer? TGL may soon give us that answer.
All in all, the upstart league appears to be solidifying more than expanding in Season 2, but there’s plenty of intrigue to look forward to. Like last season, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs, which are scheduled for March 17, 23 and 24. There are also LIV Golf rumours swirling around one of The Bay GC’s biggest stars (remembering that one of them is an Aussie).
