He’s back! Almost 30 years after Happy Gilmore first charged the fairways (and tackled Bob Barker), Adam Sandler returns to the tee in “Happy Gilmore 2”, launching globally on Netflix on July 25. And the best news? Aussie fans can catch it in prime time from 5pm AEST – perfect for a Friday night in front of the telly.

Sandler reprises his role as the heavy-hitting, hockey-loving golfer who shocked the sport by winning the Tour Championship in 1996. Now, we finally get to see what’s become of Happy in a long-awaited sequel filled with fan-favourite characters, celebrity cameos, and a who’s who of pro golf.

So who’s back?
Expect plenty of familiar faces: Julie Bowen as love interest Virginia Venit, Christopher McDonald as smug villain Shooter McGavin, Ben Stiller as the menacing Hal L., and longtime Sandler collaborator Blake Clark. Also joining the fun are Sadie and Sunny Sandler, plus music superstar Bad Bunny (credited under his real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio).
And the cameos? They’re wild.
From rap royalty like Eminem, Cam’ron, and Post Malone to media personalities Dan Patrick, Ken Jennings, and Verne Lundquist, the film leans all the way in on pop culture mayhem. You’ll even spot Jack Nicklaus, Nelly Korda, Nancy Lopez, and John Daly, alongside current PGA stars Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Will Zalatoris, and Paige Spiranac.

While the plot is still under wraps, Happy Gilmore 2 promises to pick up with a more seasoned Happy, returning to the game for reasons yet unknown. The sequel reunites the original creative team: Tim Herlihy co-writes, Dennis Duganserves as executive producer, and Murder Mystery director Kyle Newacheck takes the reins behind the camera.
Whether you’re in it for the nostalgia, the golf, or just to see if Shooter still sucks, “Happy Gilmore 2” looks set to deliver a hilarious, over-the-top tribute to the game we love – complete with flying clubs, angry outbursts, and at least one Happy swing for the ages.
Get ready for the return of the people’s champ. “Happy Gilmore 2” premieres exclusively on Netflix, July 25 at 3am (ET) – 5pm AEST.
