When Royal Fremantle returned to our biennial ranking of Australia’s Top 100 Golf Courses last year after a 26-year absence, it was less of a surprise and more of an overdue recognition.

This classic layout continues to impress with its natural contours, offering enough movement to create compelling golf holes while remaining an enjoyable walk. The course’s sandy base ensures excellent year-round conditioning, while the strategic bunkering and set of undulating greens demand precision from players of all ability levels.

Established in 1905, Royal Fremantle remains on its original site and has long been a proving ground for some of Australia’s finest golfers. It has played a pivotal role in developing talents such as Minjee and Min Woo Lee, who now return as hosts of the annual Webex Players Series Perth – a tournament that highlights both the course’s challenge and its championship pedigree.

With treelined fairways, subtle elevation changes, and a layout that rewards smart course management, Royal Fremantle continues to cement its place as one of Western Australia’s premier golf destinations.
