Tasmania and most of the rest of Australia have eagerly waited for the day when Hobart’s 7 Mile Beach course will have all 18 holes open for play. The answer to the oft-asked question is: December 4. After an extensive preview period that began in May for 11 of the holes, the entire course will be available from that day. The brainchild of proud Tasmanian Mathew Goggin and designed by Mike DeVries and Mike Clayton, 7 Mile Beach will further transform the golf scene of our island state, giving travelling golfers further reason to spend time south of Bass Strait. Characterised by its stunning waterside location and an artful massaging of the natural undulations, the course features clever alternate tees on several holes and even an alternate green at the eighth.
