Over the years, we here at The Loop have written up our fair share of golf course police chases. Just last year, there was a high-speed Detroit pursuit that led to $10,000 in golf course damages and 13 felony charges. Or maybe you’d prefer to watch the not-so-high-speed Georgia golf cart police chase that could be out of a sitcom. Either way, there are plenty of errant drivers on the golf course.

Rarely, however, does the culprit jump out of a moving SUV with the sheriff right behind them. That’s certainly a new one, and we even have video out of Lake Shore Country Club in Rochester, NY, from News10NBC.

This pursuit just before 5 p.m. on Sunday features a red SUV followed by a sheriff. With the car still moving, you can spot the man jump out of the car and immediately take off. A solid recovery, and the New York Jets might want to get his contact information. According to News10NBC, this soon led “to a foot chase near the 18th hole of the course and a neighborhood in the area.”

It was a hell of a Sunday in New York when it came to golf. Not only did Wyndham Clark survive the Shinnecock Hills fans, but equally impressively, a man being pursued by authorities turned a relatively normal golf course chase into quite the action set piece.
