Most golf fans know their history: The only hole-in-one on a par 4 in US PGA Tour history occurred at TPC Scottsdale’s 17th hole. On Friday at the Waste Management Open, Robert Garrigus almost gave us the second ace in tour history on the same two-shotter. And it was really, REALLY close.

Where Andrew Magee’s ace in 2001 made its way to the hole in semi-fluky fashion – deflecting off Steve Pate’s putter as his group was on the green, then finding the hole – there was nothing fluky about Garrigus’ near make. In fact, we’re going to say he got robbed. How’d that not go in?!

Watch for yourself.

He should’ve pulled a Phil Mickelson and had his caddie go up and pull the pin. In all seriousness, what a shot – and a great tap-in eagle for Garrigus.
