Things got interesting on the sixth hole at Hazeltine for the Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler foursomes pairing on Friday morning.
First, Lefty piped his tee shot out of bounds — forcing Fowler to re-tee. That didn’t go too well, either, as Rickie’s drive was lucky to stay in bounds, his ball coming to rest against a fence.
This forced Mickelson to make a right-handed swing with the pairing’s fourth shot to try and advance the ball. And that gave us Lefty almost killing photographers and fans in his attempt to keep the United States in the hole.
It didn’t go too well.

The duo conceded the hole to Rory McIlroy and Andy Sullivan before they got to the green — leading to the first ‘X’ of the 2016 Ryder Cup.
Yet Lefty and Rickie came back to win the next three holes, putting themselves 1 up through nine holes after an epic chip-in from Rickie on the ninth hole. Heck of a comeback.
