Unless you’re playing mini golf and you get a bad bounce off a rock, a putt winding up in the water is almost impossible. And yet, it happened to a rising US PGA Tour star on Friday (AEDT) at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Faced with a long eagle try on the short par-4 17th at TPC Scottsdale, Ollie Schniederjans got a little too frisky on his attempt. His golf ball powered through the break, caught a slope, and … splash. Check it out:

After tapping his head repeatedly to acknowledge his brain fart, Schniederjans avoided further damage by getting up and down for bogey. Although, he didn’t do his putting stats any favours since technically, that’s a four-putt.
