Tiger and Charlie Woods were sputtering along during the first round of the PNC Championship when Charlie unleashed a huge drive on the 294-metre (321-yard), par-4 13th hole at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.

The team was five-under after 12 holes in rainy and windy conditions – well behind the Kuchars at the top of the leaderboard – when Charlie, 14, carried the ball 290-plus metres with it rolling just off the back of the green.

Tiger and Charlie both putted from the position and missed the eagle attempt, but converted on the easy birdie to get to six-under. They finished the ambrose/scramble round eight-under, seven shots behind the Kuchars.
