There’s a saying on the PGA Tour – or at least, it was the longtime motto – that “these guys are good.” That being said, what you’re about to see is ridiculous.

During Thursday’s opening round of the Mayakoba Golf Classic, Brendan Steele pulled off one of golf’s most exciting feats in capturing the sport’s rarest of birds, the albatross. And yet, the 37-year-old reacted as if he had just rolled in a meaningless two-foot putt in a practice round.

Check out his amazing second shot from 242 yards (221 metres) out on the par-5 13th hole at El Camaleon Golf Club and the nearly-as-amazing restraint he showed in not even celebrating:

Cool as a freaking cucumber. What a pro’s pro, huh?

OK, so maybe he didn’t actually see the ball roll in. We’ve seen some situations like this in the fan-less COVID Era on tour and he was a pretty long way from the green.

But we prefer to think the three-time PGA Tour winner is just so damn good he was acting like he’s been there before. On top of that, he was over par at the time so not exactly striping it. And he wound up bogeying the final two holes of his round to finish at even par so he probably didn’t even celebrate his incredible shot after.

In any event, must be nice, Brendan. Must be nice.
