Tom McKibbin on his first season on LIV Golf, team competition and life on tour

In this interview, Australian Golf Digest speaks with Tom McKibbin about navigating his first full season on the LIV Golf circuit and what the experience has been like both on and off the course.

Competing alongside some of the world’s best players, McKibbin reflects on adapting quickly to LIV’s fast-paced environment and gaining confidence that he belongs at this level. One of the biggest adjustments has been the four-man team format, where every score contributes – adding pressure but also creating a strong sense of responsibility to perform for teammates.

That structure has helped foster camaraderie, particularly among the league’s younger players. With many already familiar faces across teams, the shared experience of learning, travelling and competing has created a tight-knit and supportive competitive environment.

One of McKibbin’s strongest memories from the season came at LIV Golf Adelaide, where the now-famous watering hole delivered an atmosphere unlike anything else in professional golf. Tricky winds, loud crowds and constant energy made focus difficult, perfectly capturing what sets LIV events apart.
