Turns out, it’s real. And it’s spectacular.

Ever since The Times reported an EXCLUSIVE (Yes, they categorized it as such) story that PGA of America president Don Rea did a little karaoke on Saturday night of the Ryder Cup, Golf Twitter has collectively had its fingers crossed that video of the performance would emerge. Well, we’re all in luck.

The Shotgun Start podcast has obtained footage of Rea rapping Eminem’s classic “Lose Yourself.” Have a look—and listen—for yourself:

Well, you gotta give him credit for trying. And, to be fair, the Americans did rally on Sunday after this. Our favorite part of the video is actually that lady in red, who looks like she couldn’t be less interested or impressed.

So why is anyone interested in this? Again, it has to do with that report that criticized Rea for doing karaoke during a Saturday night Ryder Cup party at a hotel for team family and guests instead of doing more to condemn the crowd actions at Bethpage Black.

While Rea could have come down on the crowd more with his comments throughout the week—Matt Fitzpatrick certainly wasn’t happy with them—it seems a bit much to say the guy shouldn’t be allowed to grab the mic and spit lyrics for a few minutes. OK, now back to non-karaoke-related golf content for a bit. We think.
