The topic of Rory McIlroy’s driver has been red-hot after his big dog was deemed non-conforming during the week of the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.
McIlroy, who admitted that he was “a little pissed off” after the news of the driver testing was leaked, then used the TaylorMade Qi35 driver at last week’s RBC Canadian Open, but missed the cut after a nine-over-par total that included rounds of 71 and 78.
The reigning Masters champion clearly is fatigued at the subject, if this exchange with a reporter at the US Open is any indication.

McIlroy: Yeah.
Question: What is it?
McIlroy: A TaylorMade. (Laughter.)
Question: What model?
McIlroy: I mean, come out and watch me hit balls, and you’ll see.
Social media users were not too impressed, with one reply to the above post asking, “Why not say the model?” while others were far more critical. “Why is he like this?” another user asked while another posed the question, “Why is it so hard for him to say I’m playing X? What a b”
