The return to glory of Rosebud’s North course is a welcome one for those who knew of its latent greatness. After a 31-year absence from the ranking, the North re-entered the Top 100 this year on the back of the Ogilvy Cocking Mead masterplan that has re-energised the two layouts.

As the OCM trio note, the 36 holes are home to spectacularly undulating ground – most evident on the North course – beautiful sandy soil and great vegetation. Meanwhile, the pine trees dotting the landscape combined with the orange sand in the bunkers creates a unique look.

At one point running the risk of becoming ‘just another golf course on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula’, OCM’s work is seeing the site’s tremendous potential realised. Its qualities were on display during the two TPS events the club has now hosted, and will be once again in its much-delayed opportunity to make history as a qualifying venue for the DP World Tour in late August.
