Tony Romo is attempting another run at PGA Tour Q School.

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned CBS Sports analyst is listed in a pre-qualifier field in Kansas, starting Sept. 18. The competition runs Wednesday through Friday, meaning Romo won’t miss a scheduled CBS NFL telecast.

Romo previously advanced through pre-qualifying in 2018, recording a two-over 218 at Lantana G.C. in Argyle, Texas, to finish on the number to qualify for First Stage. Romo hasn’t made it through pre-qualifying in his last two attempts, and pre-qualifying is just one of four stages of the tour’s qualifying school.

Romo has competed in multiple PGA Tour tournaments under a sponsor exemption, and has attempted to qualify for numerous U.S. Opens. He has also won the Lake Tahoe celebrity tournament three times, although this past year did not finish inside the top 30.

A four-time Pro Bowler, Romo has been CBS Sports’ lead NFL analyst in the booth with Jim Nantz since 2017.
