Tiger Woods hasn’t officially said he’ll play in next week’s Masters, but on Thursday he gave golf fans a glimpse of the swing we can expect to see at Augusta National.
Woods was in West Palm Beach for the opening of The Park, a new public golf course. And the 15-time major champ seemed very comfortable hitting cranking the ceremonial first tee shot. Have a look:
Not bad, huh? Woods tweeted after, “I was excited to hit the first tee shot at The Park, a public golf course for the community of West Palm Beach to enjoy. This course became possible due to many donors that I am honored to be a part of this project with. Opening soon!”
It’s been a busy stretch of Woods-related golf course news. Earlier this week, the PGA Tour announced the World Wide Technology championship will be moving from Mayakoba to El Cardonal, the first golf course designed by Woods and TGR Design. And the day before that, three-time MLB MVP Mike Trout announced he’s teaming up with Woods to build a golf course in his New Jersey hometown.
As for his playing career, Woods finished T-45 at the Genesis Invitational in February, his only official PGA Tour start since the Open Championship in July. The 47-year-old has previously stated that he plans to play a very limited schedule focused around the four major championships.
Woods is currently listed at 60-to-1 odds on DraftKings to win the Masters, and at least one noted gambler, Steve Fezzik, has stated he’ll be betting big against him. Be careful, Steve. That swing looks pretty darn good.
