TIGER Woods has announced the second leg of his golfing comeback could be at the Genesis Open at Los Angeles’ famed Riviera Country Club in February.

The 14-time major champion returned to the US PGA Tour at the Hero World Challenge two weeks ago, after spending 16 months recovering from surgery on his back.

Woods finished T15 in the 18-man event but showed flashes of his brilliant best with more birdies than tournament winner Hideki Matsuyama.

Although Woods may play another tournament before the the Genesis Open, the February 16 (US time) event is the only officially confirmed on his 2017 schedule.

“I’m very excited to come back to Riviera and compete in the Genesis Open,” Woods said.

“This is where it all started for me. It was my first US PGA Tour event. I was 16 years old, I weighed about 105 pounds (47 kilograms). It was a life-changing moment for me.”

Other events on Woods’ radar are the Farmers Insurance Open on January 26-29 at Torrey Pines, where Woods has won eight times, the Waste Management Phoenix Open (February 2-5), the European Tour’s Omega Dubai Desert Classic (February 2-5) and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (February 9-12).
