LIV Golf has signed one-time PGA Tour winner Thomas Detry to its roster.
Detry, 33, has been long rumoured to jump to the Saudi-backed league, given his childhood ties to LIV member Thomas Pieters, and several outlets reported earlier this month that Detry was planning on defecting. Currently 58th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Detry is coming off a career year and became the first Belgian to win on the PGA Tour when he captured the WM Phoenix Open by seven shots.

Detry will join Pieters on Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces club. LIV has also added Victor Perez and Laurie Canter this offseason, while just this morning (Australian time), Byeong-Hun (Ben) An was announced as joining the renamed Korean GC (formerly the Iron Heads), instantly replacing Kevin Na as captain.
Additionally, LIV announced that Johnson has signed a multi-year deal to stay with LIV. Johnson was the first big name to publicly jump to LIV when it launched it 2022. He’s won three times on the circuit; however, the 41-year-old’s game has seen a dip at the major championships, missing the cut in six of his past nine appearances and failing to post a top-20 finish.
The news comes in the wake of five-time major winner Brooks Koepka leaving LIV to return to the PGA Tour, despite having a year left on his LIV Golf contract. The PGA Tour announced that Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Cam Smith have a month to accept a similar offer. Johnson did not receive the offer as his most recent major win did not come during the LIV era.
LIV Golf’s 2026 season begins in Saudi Arabia on February 4.
