Rory McIlroy has done it again. A couple of months removed from the absurd bunker-busting chip-in on the 72nd hole of the Masters, McIlroy splashed in another at the Old Course on Saturday – this time for eagle and the outright lead (albeit briefly).
last-ditch effort to play the 150th Open at St Andrews has been rejected by the R&A, with a spokesman confirming to Australian Golf Digest the governing body had not changed its position on denying exemptions to former champions over the age of 60.
The three-hour program will incorporate 50 years of archive footage, edited with modern graphics and commentary, to simulate a “competition” between past champions of different eras on the Old Course at St Andrews.
