A day after the USGA called out Justin Thomas on Twitter after Thomas had spoken out against one of golf’s new rules, Thomas responded to the USGA’s accusation that he had cancelled multiple meetings with the organisation.
What has already been an eventful year regarding players and the new Rules of Golf took a bizarre turn on overnight when Sergio Garcia was disqualified from the European Tour’s Saudi International.
Under the new rules of golf that will go into effect on January 1, 2019, players will have the option of leaving the pin in when they putt on the green. Bryson DeChambeau thinks it can help him make more putts.
Specifically, the proposal calls for a “minimum slope indication limit” that would allow green-reading books to continue to use numbers, lines, arrows or other indications to identify slopes on greens, but only in areas of 4 percent slope (2.29 degrees) or greater.
