Harold Varner won on LIV Golf for the first time at its Washington DC event at Trump National Golf Club by one shot over South Africa’s Branden Grace.
For all the hundreds of millions of dollars splurged to lure big-name players away from the PGA Tour, both of the first two LIV events have been won by players outside the top 100 in the world ranking.
Watson claimed his 11th career US PGA Tour title, all of them coming in the past eight years. It’s also his second win this season, and his second career World Golf Championships victory.
