There are some odd Guinness World Records out there – like the largest collection of garden gnomes (more than 2,000) or most toilet seats broken by one’s head in one minute (46). But one world record that has piqued our interest is the longest usable golf club.

The longest club most of us have is a 45” or 46” driver.

That is not the case for Michael Furrh.

On November 4, 2014 Furrh hit a driver that was 20 feet, 6 inches long. The ball went 57.61 metres.

Unofficially, almost a year later (November 2, 2015), he went at it again. This time with a club that’s 22 feet, 6¾ inches long. With an odd swing that looks like casting a fly-fishing rod, and a proudly American outfit, Furrh hit the drive 79.55m.

Here’s a video of the shot – if you want to get to the part where he actually hits the ball, just go to the 2-minute mark.
