Tom Kim is set to make the trip to TPC Summerlin to defend a PGA Tour event for the first time. He would’ve had the opportunity at the Wyndham Championship, but a sprained ankle during the U.S. Open kept him out of the field. Last year’s Shriners victory for Kim was his second before turning 21, and it took a 24-under 260 to best Patrick Cantlay.

Cantlay won’t be in Las Vegas this go-around, but we’re set to see Emiliano Grillo, Si Woo Kim, Adam Schenk, J.T. Poston, Cam Davis and, of course, Lexi Thompson. Thompson is the big news as the LPGA mainstay will have a “once-in-a-career opportunity” to tee it up with the men and see what she can do. She’ll become one of a select few women to ever have this chance, with only Babe Zaharias making the cut back in 1945.

Although outside the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking, another big name heading to Sin City is Ludvig Åberg, looking for more positive vibes coming off of a European Ryder Cup victory. Åberg has yet to play a major but is already a Ryder Cup winner. Can he take that experience and turn it into PGA Tour victories? We’ll find out soon enough.

The winner will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $1.512 million share of the $8.4 million purse.
