Actress and comedian Heather McMahan stepped down from her role on Saturday night (New York time). The PGA of America released the following statement:
“Heather has extended an apology to Rory McIlroy and Ryder Cup Europe and has stepped down from hosting the first tee of the Ryder Cup.”
Here’s video in which you can hear someone join a “F–k you, Rory!” chant with a microphone by the first tee.
They have someone MCing the first tee trying to lead chants and it is not working /resulting in boos. A De-Cham-beau led chant lasted couple beats before turning into a “F U Rory” which also came over the mic. pic.twitter.com/rxewFa9cAj
