The Ryder Cup is special because it brings the best golfers on the planet closer than ever for one week every two years. And this year is no exception with team bonding on both sides (Team pajamas?!) reaching a level that would bring a tear to Seve Ballesteros’ eyes. That still doesn’t mean Team Europe will ever give Viktor Hovland control of the lockerroom music. Ever.

We’ve learned a lot about the young Norwegian during his rise from college star to FedEx Cup champ. And one of those things is that he loves listening to heavy metal. Heavy, heavy metal.

Well, on the eve of the Ryder Cup, some social media person genius had an idea to have Hovland’s teammates listen to his favorite song. And the results were hysterical. Check it out:

Some of those reactions are classic. Here are a few:

Rory McIlroy: “Sounds like the devil. That’s like the most horrific thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”

Matt Fitzpatrick: “That’s not even music. That’s horrendous.”

Tyrrell Hatton: “I think you’ve played that for like 15 seconds too long there.”

And Jon Rahm just had a simple question: “What is wrong with Viktor?”

Hey, to each his own and all that, but yeah, what the heck is that music about? Well, Viktor explained: “It’s just super chaotic, but the more you listen to it, you find the rhythm and the beats, and it kind of comes together and makes sense.”

Sure thing, Viktor. Whatever floats your boat.
