There wasn’t much that went wrong for Europe during its latest Ryder Cup romp on home soil. It turns out, the ensuing celebration was a different story.

From the team bus to the team hotel and beyond, the Europeans partied like rockstars. But one fluke—and funny—injury suffered by their biggest star is a reminder that they’re merely golfers. After three days of looking invincible, all it took to take down Rory in Rome was a champagne cork.

That’s because amid all the popping bottles by the European team, McIlroy caught a stray cork to his shoulder. Have a look:

We’re pretty sure Rory will recover—and that he wasn’t the only player banged up on Monday morning—but it looks like the four-time major champion was actually in a bit of pain. At least, until he polished off that big bottle of Moët he was holding.

Considering both teams rely on data more than ever in this event, perhaps someone will do some number crunching regarding corks in the next couple of years to avoid a similar mishap in the future. Either that, or put one of the vice-captains in charge of celebration safety. In any event, feel better, Rory.
