Looks like Rory McIlroy didn’t hit the vineyards last night, if this drive is anything to go by.
The 10th hole at Silverado Resort & Spa is a par 4 measuring 411 metres, but the Northern Irishman shortened it considerably with a blistering 320m drive that ran through the fairway and into the rough.
His score on that hole? A disappointing par.
McIlroy carded a 1-under par 71 today, bringing his 36-hole total to 5-under and six shots behind leader Brendan Steele.
The US PGA Tour is in California’s renowned Napa Valley wine region this week for the season-opening Frys.com Open, and the world No.3Â admitted that the local vineyards were tempting.Â
Rory McIlroy. Liftoff. 🚀
(That one was 350 for those of you scoring at home).
