Regardless of how the 2024 Presidents Cup turns out, you can’t question the International Team’s effort—especially when it comes to riling up the home crowd at Royal Montreal. And no one has done a better job of that than the electric South Korean duo of Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim.
But one celebration backfired in spectacular fashion on Saturday. And an NBA legend had to weigh in.

Let’s back up to Day 3 when Si Woo pitched in for birdie on No. 16 to tie up a foursomes match against Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay. It was an amazing moment that deserved an amazing reaction, and Kim went with the “Night Night” celebration made famous by Stephen Curry, most recently when he put France to sleep in the Gold Medal Game of the Olympics.

It was an incredible scene, but obviously, there was one problem: There were still two holes to play. And Cantlay wound up making a birdie on 18 to win the match and flip the entire event back toward Team USA.

“Yeah, my favorite NBA player is Steph Curry, so that’s what I did,” Kim said after. “It didn’t finish well, but yeah, I was excited.”
Curry took to Instagram to confirm that Kim went to the move prematurely.
“I appreciate the energy and the love @siwookim_official,” Curry wrote. “Gotta know time and score tho!!! #USA”
Can’t argue with that. If you’re going to pull out that celebration, you can’t lose. Sorry, Si Woo. Better luck timing next time.
