We hope you’re sitting down. Adam Stalmach, a.k.a. the ‘Scottsdale Streaker’ at last week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open, says alcohol may have been a factor in his decision to bare it all.

“I definitely wouldn’t have done it if I was sober,” Stalmach told AZfamily.com.

Stalmach said that he pounded down “at least” eight drinks before showing the world his birthday suit, with the libations ranging from “Coors Light to regular Coors to chardonnay”. Truly an elixir from the gods.

Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, the stunt cost him dearly. He spent five days in jail, has to pay $US1,500 in fines and lost his bartending job.

And yet, while contrite – “I definitely wouldn’t do it again,” he said – Stalmach didn’t express regret.

“Yeah, it was worth it,” Stalmach said. “As long as people got a kick out of it, it was worth it.”

Heroes get remembered. But legends never die.
