Things did not go well for Adam Hadwin on Day 1 of the Genesis Invitational. The weather was uncharacteristically bad at Torrey Pines and so was the Canadian’s golf as he dropped (all the way) to the bottom of the PGA Tour signature event’s leaderboard. But things only got worse if he checked Twitter following his opening 83.

Because Adam took some fire on social media. Albeit, friendly fire.

That’s because his wife, Jessica, spent part of her day teasing her husband. And it’s because of stuff like this that she remains one of the best follows on all of Golf Twitter. First, there was this subtle reference to Adam’s struggles:

Anyway, then there was this not-so-subtle dig when Adam actually hit a good golf shot:

Classic. And, finally, a joke about how she’d try to console him—after deleting the evidence of said teasing.

Great stuff. Now, obviously, these two have a healthy relationship if Jess can joke like this. And just a few days ago the Tinder couple was all smiles as they had a date night in Scottsdale during a week in which Adam finished T-9 at the WM Phoenix Open. (Jessica even documented the fun week for Skratch.)

It doesn’t look like Adam will have the same success at Torrey Pines, but with it being a limited-field event, he’ll still make a nice paycheck. And he’ll still have Jessica. And they’ll still have a happy Valentine’s Day despite her Thursday tweets. We think.
