Mark Hubbard blistered the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio on Thursday. Unfortunately, he still couldn’t forget the time he drilled his own wife with a golf shot there a couple years back.
Hubbard shot an opening 65 to grab the early lead in the final event before the Masters. But after, he had this to say about the course.

“Yeah, I mean, according to my game and statistics, this should be a good course for me,” Hubbard said. “I never played it well. Had honestly some pretty bad memories here. I hit my wife in the head with a driver off the deck like two years ago, so this place has always kind of had my number for some reason. I feel like I’m a little bit due here.”
Yeah, that’s a pretty bad memory alright! Hubbard was then asked how long it took for his wife, Meghan, to forgive him.
“Still going,” he replied.
And, frankly, we don’t blame her. Going driver off the deck is about as wreckless as it gets out there.
Anyway, Hubbard’s brother, Nathan, chimed in with Meghan’s texts from that day, including a photo of where his golf ball hit her on the head.

Ouch. Now to be fair to Mark, he’s also the guy who proposed to her at Pebble Beach during the 2015 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, so the two do have at least one special memory together on a golf course.
Anyway, good luck to Mark the rest of the week. And if Meghan is out there following, she might want to wear a helmet just in case.
