It was a big weekend for fun golf celebrations with Peter Malnati’s inspirational second-ever PGA Tour win taking centerstage. His first victory in nine years was emotionally resonant and beautiful to watch, but it didn’t feature a miniature Aston Martin, so it automatically comes in second place.

That revelry came from Padraig Harrington because of course, it did. The three-time major champ (and six-time PGA Tour winner) survived a windy Newport Beach Country Club to dramatically win the Hoag Classic by one shot. The 14-under victory was nice and all, however it was his mini Aston Martin joyride that really mattered.

Usually, the victor will put on a fancy coat of some sort or hoist a trophy into the air, but the Irishman had a bit more fun taking his trophy for a vehicular outing around the California course. Harrington joked, “You saw my driving already on 18” and seemed bewildered by his own steering eventually asking, “Where am I going?”

He literally drives off into the sunset waving to the cameraman, seemingly having the time of his life. After taking home quite a few majors, the future World Golf Hall of Famer knows how important the celebration is after a nice victory. You don’t get that many of them, so when you do win one, you might as well have some joy.

Jeremy Smith on Instagram dubbed this “The Paddy Wagon,” which would most likely get a laugh from Harrington … it did from us at least. This mini Aston Martin would be perfect for Harrington as a potential golf cart. We already know he can handle the turns. Hopefully, there are more dad jokes to come.
