Since turning 50, Michael Block has been collecting sizeable paychecks playing on the PGA Tour Champions. But it seems like he used a different kind of payment to help fund the sweet car he’s been driving around.
In an interview ahead of this week’s Sanford International, Block did his latest interview in which he talked about how life has changed since the PGA pro became a star at the 2023 PGA Championship. Block says he still has to deal with payroll for his original day job, but that he now has a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Restomod to park at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club. And how he bought it might surprise you.

As golf fans are well aware, Block made an incredible slam-dunk hole-in-one during the final round at the 2023 PGA. As golf fans might not know, however, is that he received some pretty big offers to buy the 7-iron he used for that fable shot. Block decided against selling initially, but now he says he did sell the club.
“When I made that hole-in-one I was able to sell that 7-iron and that really helped put the funding towards that,” Block says in the clip.
The clip also shows the beautiful vehicle that has a California license plate that reads “SVNIRON.” Have a look and listen:
“Of course,” Block continuedd, “I had to make the license plate SVNIRON because that’s what bought it.”
Of course. And if he keeps racking up these high finishes on the senior circuit, there could be more cars coming to his garage soon.
