A famous American rapper fanboying out over Bryson DeChambeau?
Yes, Lil Wayne chimed in on the second-round Masters coverage on Friday afternoon (Saturday morning AEST), claiming there was a serious lack of it involving the two-time US Open winner, who went five under over the first eight holes on Friday at Augusta National and then launched into second place with a 68 that left him at seven-under, one shot behind leader Justin Rose.
Â
“They gotta stop hatin on the LIV sh-t,” wrote Wayne on X, formerly known as Twitter.Â
The Masters blew it w this lack of coverage on Bryson!!! They gotta stop hatin on the LIV shit. This man is killin it out there and I can’t watch

To Lil Wayne’s point, DeChambeau was killing it out there, making birdies at No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 (!) and No. 8,. At the time this was tweeted, live coverage was still nearly two hours away.Â
As for featured groups coverage on Masters.com, DeChambeau was nowhere to be found. The two morning groups featured the first-round leader Rose and his Day 1 partners JJ Spaun and Max Homa. Group 2 was the supergroup of Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Aberg and Akshay Bhatia.Â
The thing is, the technology-savvy folks out there could have picked up DeChambeau’s round on the 4th, 5th, 6th hole feed, where they would have seen an incredible bunker hole-out birdie and an even more impressive birdie at the fifth, where he put his 145-metre approach to eight feet and made the putt. After the par-3 sixth, though, fans at couldn’t get eyes on DeChambeau again until the 11th tee box on the Amen Corner feed. A tough scene, indeed.Â
Of course, you could also simply watch all of DeChambeau’s shots after the fact on Masters.com, though they are not live. And just as a counter-point, Masters Thursday featured groups had two LIV golfers in them – Joaquin Niemann and Jon Rahm.Â
The good news for Lil Wayne – who is also a Tom Watson superfan – is that Bryson will very likely be in one of the final few groups on Saturday, where he should get PLENTY of coverage, ideally.
