AUGUSTA, Ga.—The first round of the 2024 Masters is under a weather delay.

Slated to begin at 8:00 a.m., heavy rain over Wednesday night and Thursday morning pushed the tee times back by two and a half hours Thursday morning. The honorary starters ceremony will still take place, with Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Gary Player set to hit the opening shots at 10:10 a.m.

Gates to the course will remain closed until 9:30 a.m..

The 2023 Masters tournament experienced similar weather issues, with the final day turning into a 30-hole marathon for the final group. However, the forecast for the rest of the week does not feature rain, and no further delays are expected.
